Gregory Fischer is the William Smith Dean's Professor in Robotics Engineering and Mechanical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. His is the Director of the Automation and Interventional Medicine (AIM) Robotics Laboratory, where his research focuses on medical robotics, specifically the use of real-time medical imaging feedback to guide robot-assisted surgical procedures. He is also the Director of the newly launched PracticePoint Research and Development Center for Healthcare Cyber-physical Systems at WPI - a research, development, and commercialization accelerator founded to advance commercialization of innovative healthcare technologies. Dr. Fischer received his PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Johns Hopkins University in 2008 where he was part of the NSF Engineering Research Center for Computer Integrated Surgery and the JHU Laboratory for Computational Science and Robotics (LCSR).
