Dr. Emir Osmanagic is a Director of Visualization Technologies - Digital Surgery, at Ethicon R&D, a Johnson and Johnson company, where he leads effort of digital transformation and rapid development of highly differentiating imaging and visualization technologies, applicable across various surgical approaches, open, laparoscopic or robotic surgery.
Prior to this position, Dr. Osmanagic was ìHead of New Technologies and Innovation at Baxter Inc in Los Angeles, California, where he shaped innovation strategy and oversaw execution of technology innovation portfolio.
In his career, Dr. Osmanagic held leadership positions at Pfizer and bioMerieux with focus on leading teams in biotechnology and medical device industries.
During his 20+ tenure, Dr. Osmanagic taught courses at the School of Engineering and Applied Science at Washington University St. Louis, develop programs and served as a bridge between industry and academia.
Dr. Osmanagic holds a PhD from the School of Medicine, Department of Radiology, and School of Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis . His doctoral dissertation was titled: ìQuantitative Assessment of Lung Microstructure in Healthy Mice Using an MRI-based 3He Lung Morphometry Techniqueî.
